In addition to allowing the ship to be safely moored at the anchorage, the anchor of the aluminum alloy fishing boat can also play the following roles:
1. Emergency braking
The anchor is used to suppress the forward rush of the ship. Often, when reversing, the head anchor is dropped to stop the ship from moving forward urgently.
2. Control lateral movement
When the ship is approaching the dock, it is often used to drop the anchor to control the horizontal movement of the moon to the dock. Dropping the anchor can control the forward speed.
3. Help turn around
When turning around in narrow waters, if the water depth and riverbed are suitable for anchoring, the anchor-leading operation method can often be used to make the ship turn around smoothly.
4. Suppress deflection
When the ship needs to retreat a long distance, in order to ensure that the ship can move in a straight line, if the riverbed permits. The head anchor can be dropped to the bottom to brake the anchor chain, forming a drag anchor and achieving the purpose of suppressing the deflection of the ship.
5. Assist in getting out of the reef
After the ship is stranded, a small boat can often be used to transport the anchor to a distant place (against the wind and current direction) and then the anchor cable can be reeled in to get the ship out of the reef. Points to note when anchoring:

(1) The principle is to go against the current and wind, and maintain a safe margin of speed for anchoring, that is, a slow forward or backward speed.
(2) The left and right anchors should be used in turn: the anchor chain is stored in the anchor chain bin for a long time, which is easy to rust and become brittle, reducing the service life of the anchor chain.
(3) When anchoring in strong winds and waves, there should be enough water depth under the boat to prevent the boat from hitting the bottom in the wind and waves. When anchoring in shallow water, the anchor should be prevented from hitting the bottom of the boat, and it is not appropriate to use the method of anchoring while sailing. When the water depth under the boat is less than 1 meter, do not take emergency anchoring and stopping measures.
(4) Maintain safe margin speed for anchoring: Due to improper operation of the ship, the brake belt of the anchor machine often burns out or the anchor chain is broken. The main reason is that the ship speed is not well controlled. The safe margin speed for anchoring refers to the actual speed of the ship before anchoring (the speed of the ship in the water minus the flow speed). The above accidents will not be caused by the anchor chain failing to stop or the anchor being stuck and unable to be dragged.
(5) When there are many anchored ships at the anchorage, it is advisable to anchor downwind of other ships. If you need to turn downstream, you should anchor downstream of other ships.
